Here is a recording of a nashid-singing session with Arabs in Afghanistan from late 1989 or early 1990. I found it buried inside a large collection of recorded speeches by Abdallah Azzam that I downloaded from a jihadi website some years ago. The session is apparently held in his Azzam’s honour shortly after his death in November 1989. Recordings of nashid sessions “in the field” from this period are really quite rare, so I thought I’d share it. Unfortunately Tumblr only lets me post the first 8 minutes (of 57), but it gives you a taste.

Update: I’ve now posted the whole thing on Soundcloud. (I should have thought of that to begin with; thanks alexstrick!)
